Location and Journey

Arrival by car

The best way to reach Bad Schandau is via the A17 or A4 freeways. It is recommended to change from the A4 to the A17 at the freeway junction Dresden-West and then continue on the B172 in the direction of Bad Schandau from the Pirna exit. In Bad Schandau you will find our hotel parking lot on the city side, approach via Dresdener Straße on the right side. You will receive all further information at the reception upon arrival. Parking spaces are available in front of and behind the hotel, parking fee per day 2,00 €.

Arrival by bike

If you arrive by bike, please use the entrance on the city side, so that you do not have to carry the bikes over the steep stairs on the Elbe side. Regarding the storage for your bicycles, there is a small bicycle room, also on the city side, where you can lock your bikes.

You will arrive by train

The national park train station Bad Schandau is very well suited as an international EC stop to arrive directly by train. Direct connections exist from Berlin, Leipzig, Prague, Budapest, Graz and also daily from Vienna. Since 2020, there is also a direct connection from Rostock to Dresden every two hours. On foot it would be about 2 km, but the best way is to take the ferry from the train station to Bad Schandau. When you arrive in Bad Schandau at the national park train station, you will find directly below the train station the ferry which brings you from 7.00 - 21.30 o'clock every full and half hour directly to the other side to the Elbe quay. You pass directly by our hotel and have to walk back to our hotel only about 50 m to the left.
